I wanted to share with you some of my tried and true shoe hacks. These can help bid farewell to blisters, salt stains, and dirty outsoles. Let's dive into some of my secrets.
1. Wear Deodorant On Your Feet - Yes, you read that right! Blisters on your feet, especially on your heel, can be caused when your feet perspire and rub on your shoes. I throw on some deodorant on the backs of my heels to help reduce perspiration which contribute to those pesky blisters!
2. Salt Stains - Winter weather often brings salt stains, leaving your shoes looking worse for wear. If you find salt stains on your footwear, you will want to remove them right away as salt is corrosive and if left too long will cause irreversible damage. If you don't have any of our amazing Canadian-made salt stain remover on hand, use a mixture of warm water and white vinegar with a soft brush to remove the salt stains.
3. Baking Soda Refresh - While we recommend using our made in Canada Odour Freshener Spray, if you don't have this on hand, you can refresh your shoes with baking soda. Sprinkle a tiny amount inside your shoes and let sit over night. The baking soda absorbs odours leaving your shoes smelling fresh and clean.
4. Magic Eraser - White outsoles can sometimes be a challenge to keep looking fresh. Try using a Magic Eraser to restore their whiteness! Simply rub the magic eraser over the soles to remove scuff marks and dirt. This quick and easy hack will brighten up your soles in no time!
